My formal photographic training began at Stephen F.
Austin State University in Nacogdoches TX. in the early 70's
where I studied under
Michael N. Roach.
The cameras used during this
time were twin lens reflex, a Graflex Ciro-flex and a Mamiya C330.
Interest photography began much earlier though when
John Sr. gave me a Kodak Duaflex around 1956 in Midland
TX. (I'm looking to see if I can still find any of those
"priceless" shots still around).
After graduating to a Canon
fTB 35mm SLR and dropping out of college the photographic pursuits became secondary to earning a
living. Even without the time to devote to the hobby, photography
remained a major
interest.
After just living for about 14 years my wife persuaded me to
return to college to complete my degree - this time a dual
degree combining computers and communications. After
working within the computer fields for 9 additional years I have
finally returned full circle to the pursuit of the Photographic
Image.
I have upgraded to a Pentax K-10D Digital
SLR for the
instant gratification, Pentax LX and MX for the 35mm, and
Mamiya M645-s1000 and RB67-ProS for the larger formats. I
hope to add view and panorama cameras in the future.
I hope you enjoy my interpretations of nature and welcome any
comments you might have.
Thank you
John R. Busley Jr.
